COMING UP SUNDAY- APRIL 17

This is the 4th Sunday of Easter.  This is also called Good Shepherd Sunday.  On this day, the Gospel lesson is taken from the 10th chapter of John in which Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd.  In the Hebrew Scriptures, kings and rulers were sometimes called shepherds and were expected to care for the sheep- the people of Israel.  This Sunday celebrates Jesus who is the culmination of all shepherds, caring for the flock.  The 23rd psalm is also read in worship on this day.
At St. Thomas', church school will meet.   Later on Sunday, the annual WARM bowl-a-thon will take place at Alley Katz lanes in Westerly from 1-3pm.  Come support the St. Thomas' Tom Katz who will participating in this fundraiser.
