Ministries

St. Thomas' is involved in many outreach projects both local and abroad

WARM MEAL PREPARATION
St. Thomas' prepares a monthly meal for the residents.  A menu is posted and parishioners donate the foods needed for the meal. Volunteers then assemble the meal at church and deliver it to WARM.  WARM is located on Spruce Street in Westerly.  It is a homeless shelter for adults, but it also provides 3 meals a day for anyone in the community who is hungry.  For more information, you can call them at 401-596-WARM or visit their website at here.

CANNED FOOD DONATION
Collection bags are located in the narthex of our church.  Canned and packaged food items are collected and once a month these donations are delivered to the RICAN (Rhode Island Center Assisting those in Need) which is located on the corner of routes 91 and 112 in Charlestown.  If you are in need of food or other social service needs, contact them at 401-364-9412.

CHRISTMAS PROJECTS
Each December, the parish collects new socks and underwear for the residents of the WARM Center.

WELLBEING COLLABORATIVE
This agency (formerly known as the Chariho Youth Task Force) focuses on health issues that are of importance in the local community.  St. Thomas' supports their mission in many ways, one of which is the Caring Closet located in the church parking lot. It houses emergecny food and household supplies for those in need. To learn more about this agency, visit their Facebook page here

MITE BOX DONATIONS
Every year, during the seasons of Advent and Lent, parishioners are encouraged to use mite boxes to collect money for those in need. These funds are donated to the United Thank Offering (UTO) or the Episcopal Relief and Development. Both of these agencies support projects for those in need in the United States and across the globe.
