This is the 1st Sunday after Epiphany, also known the day to celebrate the Baptism of Jesus.  The baptism story is another epiphany moment in the life of Jesus.  The word epiphany means manifestation and these stories tell us how the true identify of Jesus was revealed to his community.
Church school will meet this week and there will be a vestry meeting following the service.
The annual parish meeting will be held on Jan. 27.
During the season of Epiphany, some parishioners are participating in the Good Book Club which is reading through Paul's letter to the Romans.  This is open to everyone!  For more information, see the post on the right column.

COMING UP SUNDAY- JAN. 6

This is the Feast of Epiphany.  It marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas.  The word Epiphany means manifestation and during this season (which lasts until Lent), the Scripture readings remind us of the many ways in which Jesus was manifested to the world.
There is no church school this week.  There will be a 3 Kings Party during coffee hour to celebrate the three magi who came to visit baby Jesus in Bethlehem (Matt. 2:1-12).  All are welcome!
The annual parish meeting will be held on Jan. 27.
