COMING UP SUNDAY- MAR. 6

This is the 4th Sunday in Lent- also known as mid-Lent Sunday or Mothering Sunday- read the column to the left. Church School will meet. After church there will be a discussion of the book, Crazy Christians, written by our Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry. Join us even if you have not read the book.

March 6 is also Girl Scout Sunday. All Girl Scouts are welcome to join us for worship at 9am followed by a reception.

During the Easter Season, some of our church members are reading the Book of Psalms (also called The Psalter). There are 150 psalms and you can go at your own pace. Some are short and some are long. If you finish before the season ends, just start over, or reread some of your favorites. The season goes for 50 days from April 1 until May 19 which is the Feast of Pentecost. You can find the psalms in any Bible or in the Book of Common Prayer or online. Send us a message if you are reading along!

PRAYER FOR ST. THOMAS CHURCH

Almighty God, we give you thanks for our church that has been faithful to your Gospel for many generations. We are grateful for all those who have ministered to the village of Alton and beyond. Strengthen us as we focus our lives on serving you. Encourage us as we continue to be a beacon of love in the world. Guide us when we face challenges and questions. May your Holy Spirit fill us with joy, courage and anticipation as we discover what you are calling us to do in this new age. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
