This Sunday, May 31, is the Feast of Pentecost. This is one of the major holidays in the church year as it celebrates the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the crowd in Jerusalem in the form of wind and fire. The story is recorded in the Book of Acts 2:1-21. We recognize this day as the birthday of the Church. This powerful Scripture reading is a good reminder to us during these unsettling times- the Holy Spirit has been given to us- and will inspire each person to live a life of faith and love. Bad times will come and go, but the good news of God in Christ last forever!
